Past life: I was born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan (which is the ramen capital of the country)! I completed my medical training at Nagasaki University, the oldest and most international medical school in Japan. I was impressed by the support for residents to pursue their interests especially in Global health! I’ve always wanted to work with an underserved, minority population and couldn’t think of a better location than New Haven County where I grew up. Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: I really enjoyed my interview day even though it was virtual. There’s lots of good hiking nearby and I enjoy going to the beach in Milford. Favorite activities in New Haven: I love all the restaurant options and there’s so much to do (museums, paint nights, concerts pre-COVID). After that I completed a post-bac at UConn and applied to medical school.Īcademic Interest: Global Health, ultrasound, pediatric emergency medicine. I’ve been here since!
